But when your baby can sit varies greatly. We’ve done them for babies as young as 6 months and as old as 6 years — seriously! Technically, the only requirement is that your baby can sit unassisted. Our sweet spot is 10-11 months, when they sit confidently but haven’t started walking. Some parents want photos of standing babies, and while we don’t recommend it, we get it — in that case, aim for around 13-14 months.
